Introduction

Growing teams struggle when collaboration is fragmented, tasks are scattered across apps, chats are lost in messaging tools, and files are stored in multiple places. The client needed a centralized, real-time workspace platform where internal and external collaborators could work together without switching tools.

They wanted a system that enabled:

The Challenge

Building Workspace Platform required addressing multiple complex challenges:

Real-time task updates, messaging, and notifications without race conditions
Syncing user-specific dashboards using Supabase triggers
Managing internal vs external collaborator permissions at scale
Designing granular role-based visibility across workspaces and tasks
Implementing real-time collaborative docs with edit-lock and takeover logic

Our Approach

We engineered Workspace Platform as a real-time, modular collaboration suite, leveraging Vue 3 on the frontend and Supabase for backend, realtime sync, and auth.

Messaging System

WhatsApp-like structured chat with audio messages, scheduled messages, and role-based visibility.

Group & Role Management

Scoped access ensures the right collaborators see only the right tasks, workspaces, and chats.

Realtime Collaborative Pages

A document editor supporting live edits, lock/takeover flow, and privacy-based sharing.

Notification Engine

Email, push notifications, reminders, and daily/weekly digests, all automated via Supabase functions & cron jobs.
