Centralising Media Workflows for the Modern Broadcaster

We developed a powerful multi-organization SaaS platform for media syndication, schedule automation, and content synchronization across Webflow and TelVue. Designed for local broadcasters, it eliminates manual updates and brings full visibility to digital and on-air operations.

Introduction

Broadcasters across regions were struggling with fragmented systems for publishing, scheduling, and syndicating their media content. Each station had its own setup, manually managing videos, metadata, and schedules, often duplicating effort across CMS platforms and broadcast tools.

The team envisioned a unified, multi-organization platform that could:

  • Automate content sync between internal CMS, Webflow, and TelVue.
  • Manage thousands of video assets, schedules, and metadata updates in real-time.
  • Enforce strict organization-based permissions.
  • Deliver embeddable schedule widgets for websites and apps.
  • Ensure reliability at scale, even across multiple broadcasters and APIs.

The Challenge

The project presented several intricate technical and operational challenges:

  • Complex Integrations: TelVue and Webflow lacked native sync mechanisms, requiring intelligent reverse validation and error recovery logic.
  • Rate Limits & Payload Optimization: Webflow’s strict API limits (60 req/min) demanded queuing and batch-based sync systems.
  • Massive Multi-Org Data Volume: Over 100,000 records were synced across broadcasters with complete data isolation and zero overlap.
  • API Reliability: TelVue XML feeds were inconsistent, forcing us to design retry, backoff, and error notification mechanisms.
  • Granular Access Control: Needed airtight permission layers for organization-specific roles, ensuring compliance with broadcasting data policies.

Our Approach

7Span was engineered from the ground up as a multi-tenant media automation engine, powered by Directus and AWS cloud infrastructure.

Multi-Org Directus Backend

Built a multi-tenant Directus instance with strict org-level permissions and scoped API keys, enabling full autonomy for each broadcaster.

Webflow Sync Engine

Implemented a queue-driven sync system detecting field-level changes and minimizing API payload size by ~70%, ensuring high performance within rate limits.

TelVue Integration Suite

Developed APIs to push and fetch media data, auto-correct durations, and parse Connect XML feeds and RSS-based TV schedules.

Custom React Widgets

Designed embeddable widgets for playlists and schedules, allowing broadcasters to publish branded TV lineups directly on their websites.

AWS DevOps & CI/CD Automation

Deployed across ECS Fargate, Amplify, Lambda, and CloudWatch with auto-scaling, structured logging, and zero-downtime rollouts.

Automation & Reporting Tools

Added cron-based automation for media ingestion, CSV exports to S3, and SES notifications to users — ensuring full transparency and control.

Automate Your Broadcast & Media Ecosystem

From sync engines to scalable SaaS infrastructures, 7Span helps broadcasters unify operations, reduce manual work, and achieve total visibility.

Nestling

7Span delivered an exceptional solution, the media syndication platform has completely transformed our content syndication workflows. The system runs seamlessly, even across multiple organizations, and the automation has saved our team hours every week.
