Visitor Management System

This project involves a visitor management system with Kiosk support that detects the visitor temperature and prevents entry if needed. Our expertise has helped them manage employee attendance with a Real-time Dashboard, Post-visit Survey, Automated Online Review, Live Notifications, and SMS/Voice Broadcasting. In the USA, this system is used to advance medical facilities.

Project Highlights

Here are some of the challenges we encountered and the achievements we made throughout the project.

Legacy code. The initial code is written in PHP5.

PHP5 is an outdated version that lacks the security features and then the same can be presented in the later versions. This makes it more vulnerable to hacking attacks and exploits that can compromise the integrity of web applications. As a result, we’ve upgraded our tech expertise to PHP8, that provides improved security features and performance enhancements to ensure sure-shot protection against cyber threats. We’ve also divided the codes into Microservice for amped maintenance and scalability.

Server migration from CPanel to Oracle Cloud.

The legacy PHP5 code is hosted on the CPanel server. As we move ahead with the division of the code into microservices, we’ve simply migrated the code to Oracle Cloud. In oracle cloud, we’ve used RDBMS, Cnatainer, and Block Storage Services.

Hardware communication for Kiosk to detect the Temperature, Badge Printing and QR Code Scanner!

We’ve developed an Android app in compatiblity with Telpo Kiosk. We’ve integrated the SDK for detecting the temperature with the Telop SDK. We’ve also added badge printer support for ensuring a seamless printing action for their visitors’ badges.

Fast Checkin/Checkout

The idea for the check-in/checkout process covers up to around 60-75 seconds per average. This timeframe takes more time than usual, especially for employees and frequent visitors.

To solve this issue, we’ve developed a mobile app in Flutter Technology. Hence, visitors can add check-in details and the app will be able to generate the QR code. With this offered solutions, visitors were able to scan this specific QR code and could check in at the prefered location. We’ve reduced the check in time to 15 Seconds.

The System runs 24*7, so migration downtime is critical to manage.

We need to plan the downtime and maintenance activity in such a way that the system will not go down for a longer time span. We’ve to plan and deploy the code in such a way that the downtime will be really minimal.

With the Blast Feature, admin can send thousands of SMS and emails to all the visitor.

Due to the limitations of 3rd party providers (For example; Twilio sends 60 SMS/minitue), we’ve designed the queue system in a way that can seamlessly manage Multiple Messaging Action(SMS). We’ve used multiple queues and with twilio, we were fortunate enough in achieving this milestone.
